Selora Homes uses the Home Assistant Companion App so you can:

• Access your Home Assistant server from your phone from any location.
• Receive notifications from Home Assistant.
• Use phone-based steps for specific device commissioning.

Download the App

1. Download the official Home Assistant Companion App from your phone’s app store.
2. Open the app and start the setup flow.
3. Choose to connect to your Home Assistant server.

Sign In to Your Home Assistant Server

1. Let the app search for your Home Assistant server.
2. If your server is not found automatically, enter your local Home Assistant URL while you are connected to the home network.
3. Sign in with your Home Assistant account.
4. Confirm the Home Assistant dashboard loads after sign-in.

Check App Permissions

After you sign in, review any permissions the app asks for:

• Allow notifications if you want alerts from Home Assistant.
• Allow Bluetooth if your project may use nearby device setup later.
• Allow location only if Selora Homes tells you the project needs location-based features.

Verify the Setup

1. Confirm the app opens the correct Home Assistant server.
2. Confirm you can navigate the dashboard.
3. Confirm you know whether the app is currently using a local connection or a remote connection.
