Installer Plan Planning Installation

Project Installation Plan Example

Use this example plan as a model for what installers should expect to receive before arriving on-site. Installers use this plan to understand what must be installed, how devices should be set up, and what work is expected to be completed on-site.

Plan Scope

What is included in the plan:

  • Customer and project context.
  • A number to call to contact a Selora Homes Customer Support Engineer.
  • Floor plan scope by floor and room.
  • Selora Homes devices required for the project.
  • Device inventory and install status.
  • Device-to-room mapping.
  • Integration plan for each device.
  • Integration setup requirements needed for install work.
  • Automation requests that affect install-day setup.
  • Dashboard requirements that affect install-day setup.
  • Placement notes and installer notes.

What the plan should answer

Before install day, the plan should clearly tell the installer:

  • Which home and customer this project belongs to.
  • Which floors and rooms are in scope.
  • Which Selora Homes-provided equipment is assigned to the project.
  • Which devices are assigned to each room.
  • Which devices still need to be installed.
  • Which Home Assistant integration each device or device group should use and what information is needed from either the customer or installer.
  • What special notes or customer preferences apply.
