Create a Project for a Customer

Create a new customer project in Selora Connect, invite the customer to their Selora Homes profile, and share project files ahead of system design.

Installer Projects Selora-Connect Customer-Onboarding

Create a project in Selora Connect for every customer install. Creating the project invites the customer to their own Selora Homes profile and opens the workspace you will use to build the installation manifest , upload project files, and message Selora Homes during system design.

Before you start

Have the following ready:

  • Your Selora Homes installer account for Selora Connect .
  • The customer’s full name and email address.
  • The installation address.
  • The project scope: new setup or upgrade, rough timeline, and budget type.

Create the project

  1. Sign in to Selora Connect with your installer account.
  2. Click Projects in the sidebar.
  3. Click Create Project for Customer.
  4. Enter the customer’s name, email, and address.
  5. Select the project type, such as New Setup for a first-time installation or Upgrade for an existing system.
  6. Select the timeline and budget type, and add a project description covering what the install will include.
  7. Submit the project.

Selora Homes sends an invitation to the customer at the email address you provided so they can sign up for their own Selora Homes customer profile.

The new project appears under Your Projects with its project type, devices, current stage, and submitted date. Projects move through stages, such as Discovery and System Design, as the plan takes shape.

Build the installation manifest

From the project, click Open Manifest to start building the installation manifest: the room-by-room record of every device, integration, automation, and dashboard in scope. See Build the Installation Manifest for the full walkthrough.

Upload project files

Upload any supporting files to the project alongside System Design:

  • Floor plans.
  • Exports or documentation from an existing system, such as Control4 project details.
  • Anything else that helps describe the home or the scope.

You can also message Selora Homes directly from the project, and we receive everything you send there.

What happens next

Once the project and manifest are in place, Selora Homes reviews the information, schedules the installation, and moves the project to the correct stage so the install can move forward from the installation manifest.
