Roles and Permissions

The four roles in a Selora Connect installer company — owner, admin, manager and technician — and what each of them can do.

Installer Team Roles Permissions Selora-Connect

Everybody in your company shares the same workspace. The fleet, the customers and the projects belong to the company, so any member can open a hub, answer a customer or pick up a project without being handed somebody else’s password.

What differs between people is what they can change: who else is on the team, what the company says about itself, where it operates, and what it spends money on.

The four roles

Owner is whoever created the company. There is exactly one, and the role cannot be handed over, demoted or removed from the Team page.

Admin runs the company alongside the owner. Everything an owner can do to the team, the company profile and the locations, an admin can do too.

Manager runs one location. Their authority covers the people filed at that branch and the branch’s own details — not the rest of the company, and not the company’s brand.

Technician does the work. They see the whole roster, the whole fleet and every customer and project; they do not change who has access or what the company advertises.

A technician who opens the company profile or the hub ordering page is told who looks after it rather than being shown an error.

Rules that apply to everyone

  • You cannot give away a role above your own. A manager can invite and promote technicians and managers; making somebody an admin is the company’s decision, and stays with the owner and the admins.
  • You cannot remove yourself. Removing your own membership would revoke your access on the spot with no way back in. Ask another admin, or the owner.
  • The owner cannot be removed or demoted. A company with no owner has nobody who can bill it or close it, so the option is not offered.
  • One company per account. An account that already belongs to a company cannot accept an invitation to a second one.
