What Selora OS is
Selora OS is not an operating system you use. It has no desktop, no app and no interface of any kind for you to open. It is a managed operating system that sits above Home Assistant and acts as its control layer: it runs Home Assistant OS, and next to it the services that cannot run inside Home Assistant OS, such as Frigate, which needs drivers and direct access to the GPU that Home Assistant OS does not provide.
- Nothing to see: you keep using Home Assistant and Selora AI as usual. Selora OS stays out of sight.
- Nothing to configure: there are no settings to change on Selora OS itself.
- Nothing to maintain: Selora OS pulls its updates from its canonical repository on GitLab and applies them on its own.

Selora Hub is Selora OS on hardware we source, configure and support for you: it arrives pre-installed, with remote access and Selora Homes support. Choose Selora OS when you would rather bring your own hardware, or get a Selora Hub when you want it ready to go.
Source code
Selora OS is built from Nix configurations, which is what makes its builds reproducible and its updates atomic. Those configurations live in gitlab.com/selorahomes/products/selorabox-nix, the canonical repository every Selora OS install pulls its updates from. Read it to audit what runs on your hardware, or to build the image yourself.
