History
The story of how Selora Homes came to be, from founding in 2025 to building an AI-powered smart home platform.
2025
Selora Homes is founded
Philippe Lafoucrière founds Selora Homes, backed by Open Core Ventures (OCV). The company is born from a simple observation: Home Assistant is incredibly powerful, but its DIY complexity puts professional-quality smart homes out of reach for most homeowners and limits installation to a small pool of specialized integrators.
Building the platform
The team begins developing the Selora Homes platform, an enterprise-grade layer on top of Home Assistant that brings reliability, remote management, and professional support infrastructure to smart home installations. An AI-first approach is adopted from day one, embedding artificial intelligence into every stage of the smart home project lifecycle.
Today
Scaling nationwide
Selora Homes is scaling its AI-powered platform and nationwide technician network, selling directly to homeowners across residential, builder, and commercial segments. Anyone who can run wire can become a certified Selora technician. Selora AI handles the rest.
